Here at BillsNerd.blog, we didn’t start being nerdy for the sake of a blog.
We were Nerdy for a long time before that. The blog is just a way to let that nerdiness out.
When we were young, we’d ask all the family members to pick the games and run a wins and losses pool, not for prizes, but for the glory.
In middle age, we’ve taken that to the next level, starting a contest between the brothers in the family to predict the draft, along with elaborate rules and scoring systems.
Now we want to invite you to join us.
The Contest
We’re picking two things. The draft picks in the first round (players at which pick, not necessarily to which team) and the order of the positions the Bills draft (1st pick-QB, 2nd pick-P). This makes trading just fine, as it’s not about the individual pick itself, just the order of the positions.
Scoring
The maximum points you can get per 1st round pick is 10. Points are awarded by the net difference in your prediction and the actual pick the player was selected in.
For example:
Let’s say you predict Jaxon Dart will be selected 15th, and he gets picked 15th, you would get 10 points.
If instead he gets picked 6th, you would get 1 point (9 selections away, -1 point for each selection away).
If he were to be selected 24th, you would also only get 1 point (9 selections away just in the other direction, -1 point for each selection away).
A Bonus 10 points will be awarded for each pick you select the correct position the Bills select.
Prizes
There are no prizes, unless someone wants to donate one.
But I don’t have any idea how to regulate that.
I’m a blogger, Jim, not a Contest Director.
